As gas is combustible, gas piping design, installation and safety require specialised expertise and it is highly regulated by the relevant government agencies.

Within the gas segment of the underground utility infrastructure, Sam Lain provides civil and mechanical engineering services that involve, among others, construction of gas offtake stations, including the provision of EPC services of gas offtake stations, laying of high-pressure transmission gas pipelines and pipeline inspection.
